The runners for the 2008 Grand National have now been cut down to 115 so we are now giving you the Tipmaestro top 10. At the end of the month the official 40 runners will be announced and then we will give you our 4 placings taken from our top 10. If one or more of our selections is not in the final 40 it will be replaced with another, remember if you place an ante-post bet and your selection isn't one of the runners you will probably lose your stake.
The Grand National is the race that everybody likes a flutter on from the old lady next door to the royal family but remember that it should be taken as a bit of fun and is very much a lottery as to who will win, because the form book can be thrown out of the window, even if your fancied horse dosen't fall at the first fence, like Point Barrow did last year, then it can be brought crashing down by any of the other fallers, in fact the only thing that is gauranteed is that there will be lots of fallers and it's only after the last fence has been jumped that the form book comes into play for the horses that are left.
We have selected the top ten best runners and giving you our opinions as to their chances and then selecting the top four, as those of you with a long memory may recall, we always recommend betting each way on the National and last year although we didn't tip the winner we did get the second and fourth right and so still made a profit on the race, but that's not what the National is all about, if you want to make a profit then look at other races because anything can happen in this race.
So check back with us when the field is down to 40 and enjoy our Grand National form guide, members will be sent an email when it is online.

Has done everything right this season and won at Doncaster but although he can win over 3miles he’s not proven over 4 miles, comes from a good stable.
He was third in last years Grand National and was very tired at the end but is now with a new yard and may have toughened up a bit more, likes soft ground and has a chance if he's ready for this race.
A class horse who has a turn of speed on his day as proved by being second to Denman in the Sun Alliance Chase in 2007, trained by Willie Mullins, likes soft ground and runs off a good mark.
Won the Eider Chase over 4 miles at Newcastle after a 2 year injury, seems better than ever now and came second to Cloudy Lane in December at Haydock but has a better weight in this.
Very unlucky last year in this race to pull a tendon on the run in and finish second, likes good ground and this race has been in his sights since last year.
Won the Irish National 2007 and became favourite for the Grand National 2008 but has not done a lot since, likes good ground and has proven stamina.
Came fourth in last years Grand National at 100/1 but you won’t get those sort of odds this year, had a good race in January when second to D’Argent at Warwick, only seems to win on soft ground, a real slogger.
Was going well until falling at Beachers on the second circuit last year, deserves another chance. 2nd in the Becher Chase 1 length behind Mr Pointment
Won the Beecher Chase in November and became favourite for this years Grand National and then burst a blood vessel the following month at Doncaster, likes good to soft ground and in with a good chance if fully recovered.
Winner in 2005, second in 2006 and ninth in 2007, obviously knows the course and likes it, has a lot of weight but with the right run and a good jockey is still in with a chance of regaining his crown.
